Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA to Host Inaugural Fall Fest at North Fork

The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is looking forward to hosting its first-ever SPCA Fall Fest on Saturday, October 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at North Fork.

This new event aims to bring the community together for a day of family fun, all while supporting a worthy cause.

The fundraising event will feature various activities, including live music, food trucks, contests, raffle items, and a Touch-a-Truck display. Attendees can explore vehicles from Albemarle County Fire and Rescue, the Police Department, and Animal Control.

"Fall Fest is not only a celebration of the season but also a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together to support the animals we care for," said Libby Jones, Executive Director of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. "We're excited to host an event where families and animal lovers can come together to enjoy the day and make a difference for pets in need."

Additional family-friendly activities will include a hay maze, pumpkin picking, and a trunk-or-treat experience for both kids and pets. Leashed pets are encouraged to join the fun, and costumes are highly recommended for all.

What to Expect at Fall Fest:

  • Trunk-or-Treat: A fun trick-or-treating experience for both kids and dogs.
  • Hay Maze: Navigate through a festive maze of hay.
  • Pumpkin Picking: Choose a pumpkin for fall decorating.
  • Costume Contests & Competitions: Join the fun with costume contests and a pie-eating contest for pets and people.
  • Adoptable Animals: Meet pets ready for adoption with waived fees, thanks to the Subaru Loves Pets initiative through the ASPCA.
  • Food Trucks & Local Vendors: Enjoy a variety of food options and shop from local vendors.
  • Raffle Items: Take a chance to win exciting prizes.
  • Touch-a-Truck: Explore vehicles from Albemarle County Fire and Rescue, Police, and Animal Control.

"Fall Fest is not only a celebration of the season but also a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together to support the animals we care for."
