Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA to Host Inaugural Fall Fest at North Fork
The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is looking forward to hosting its first-ever SPCA Fall Fest on Saturday, October 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at North Fork.
This new event aims to bring the community together for a day of family fun, all while supporting a worthy cause.
The fundraising event will feature various activities, including live music, food trucks, contests, raffle items, and a Touch-a-Truck display. Attendees can explore vehicles from Albemarle County Fire and Rescue, the Police Department, and Animal Control.
"Fall Fest is not only a celebration of the season but also a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together to support the animals we care for," said Libby Jones, Executive Director of the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA. "We're excited to host an event where families and animal lovers can come together to enjoy the day and make a difference for pets in need."
Additional family-friendly activities will include a hay maze, pumpkin picking, and a trunk-or-treat experience for both kids and pets. Leashed pets are encouraged to join the fun, and costumes are highly recommended for all.
What to Expect at Fall Fest:
- Trunk-or-Treat: A fun trick-or-treating experience for both kids and dogs.
- Hay Maze: Navigate through a festive maze of hay.
- Pumpkin Picking: Choose a pumpkin for fall decorating.
- Costume Contests & Competitions: Join the fun with costume contests and a pie-eating contest for pets and people.
- Adoptable Animals: Meet pets ready for adoption with waived fees, thanks to the Subaru Loves Pets initiative through the ASPCA.
- Food Trucks & Local Vendors: Enjoy a variety of food options and shop from local vendors.
- Raffle Items: Take a chance to win exciting prizes.
- Touch-a-Truck: Explore vehicles from Albemarle County Fire and Rescue, Police, and Animal Control.
"Fall Fest is not only a celebration of the season but also a wonderful opportunity to bring our community together to support the animals we care for."
The Charlottesville SPCA would like to extend a special thank you to its key sponsors, Virginia National Bank and Flow Subaru, and its exclusive TV partner, 29 News, for their generous support in making this event possible.
We invite everyone to enjoy this community-building event while supporting the SPCA's lifesaving work. All proceeds will directly benefit the shelter's vital programs, including medical care, adoption services, and animal sheltering.
